This website, northerndoctors.com, is operated by Northern Doctors Pty Ltd (ABN 36 699 684 985), trading as Northern Doctors, of 192 Park Terrace, Salisbury Plain SA 5109. By using this website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

This website is not for emergencies or urgent medical problems. If someone is seriously ill or injured, call 000 or go to the nearest hospital emergency department. Do not use online booking, email, or the contact form for anything urgent.

The information on this site is general

The health information on this website is general. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for a consultation with a doctor who knows your history. Do not delay seeking care, or change or stop a treatment, because of something you read here. We try to keep the content accurate and current, but we cannot promise that every page is complete or up to date.

Using this website does not make you a patient of Northern Doctors and does not create a doctor-patient relationship. That relationship begins when you attend a consultation, in person or by telehealth.

Appointments and online booking

Online bookings are made through HotDoc, an independent booking service, which has its own terms and privacy policy. A booking is confirmed when HotDoc or the clinic confirms it. We may need to change or cancel an appointment, for example if a doctor is unwell. If that happens we will contact you using the details you gave us and offer another time.

If you cannot attend, please cancel through HotDoc or by phoning (08) 7372 8203, with as much notice as you can, so the time can be offered to someone else. We do not charge a fee for a missed appointment. If appointments are missed repeatedly, we may ask you to book on the day instead.

We are open Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, and closed on weekends and public holidays. Outside these hours the website gives details of other services. Hours may change; the current hours are shown on the site and on the clinic door.

Fees and bulk billing

Northern Doctors is a bulk billing practice. Consultations and other services covered by the Bulk Billing Practice Incentive Program are bulk billed for every patient with a current Medicare card, with no out-of-pocket cost. Some services are not covered by Medicare, such as some procedures, pre-employment medicals, and medical reports. For these a private fee applies. Our fee schedule is displayed at reception, and you can confirm any fee with reception before your appointment. We will tell you the cost before you decide to go ahead. Patients without Medicare pay a private fee.

Contacting us through the site

Email and web forms are not fully secure, and we do not read them around the clock. Please do not send detailed health information through them, and do not use them for urgent matters or to ask for results. Reception checks the clinic email during opening hours and replies within 2 working days. Doctors do not give medical advice by email.

Your use of the site

You may view, download, and print pages from this website for your own personal, non-commercial use. You must not:

copy, reproduce, or republish the content for commercial purposes without our written permission;
use the site in any way that is unlawful, or that could damage or interfere with it or with anyone else's use of it;
attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its servers, or any connected system; or
use automated tools to collect content from the site.

The text, images, logo, and design of this website belong to Northern Doctors Pty Ltd or are used under licence. The Northern Doctors name and logo must not be used without our written permission. Trade marks of other organisations shown on the site, such as Medicare, HotDoc, or healthdirect, belong to their owners.

This website links to other websites, such as healthdirect, HotDoc, and government services. We provide these links for convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or privacy practices. A link does not mean we endorse the site or its products.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your personal information, including through this website. It forms part of these terms.

Reviews, feedback, and social media

We welcome feedback. If you have a concern about your care, please tell us directly so we can put it right. Our complaints process is explained at reception and in our Privacy Policy. Because of health advertising laws, we do not publish patient testimonials on this website and we cannot respond to comments or reviews with any detail about a person's care.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any right or guarantee you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded. Subject to that, we provide this website on an as-is basis and do not guarantee that it will always be available, free of errors, or free of viruses or other harmful components. To the extent the law allows, Northern Doctors Pty Ltd is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, this website or any linked site. This clause does not apply to the health care we provide to you as a patient, which is governed by the law that applies to medical services.

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of South Australia and the Commonwealth of Australia. Any dispute about them is subject to the courts of South Australia.
